JJ Splice was founded in 2012 by director Dean Francis, working out of a purpose-built studio in Surry Hills, Sydney — soundstage, edit suites, grading theatre and screening room under one roof.
Francis is a twice AACTA-nominated director and cinematographer with a Master of Arts in Directing from AFTRS. His films — Road Train (2010), Drown (2015), Lonesome (2022) and Body Blow (2026) — have screened at more than 200 festivals internationally, including Fantastic Fest, the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Sydney Film Festival.
